Hi there, we’re Hassle Records. Nice to meet you!
Who we are...
We’re an independent record label, specialising in rock, punk and, here’s that apparently dreaded word, emo. We’re not very old, but we like to think we’ve come quite far despite our age – something that we hope our roster of bands goes to show. And aside from the truly amazing bands we work with now, we’ve also, in our previous incarnation of Sorepoint Records, released records by the likes of Fall Out Boy, Brand New, The Movielife and loads more. Impressive, huh? We also work very closely with our American kindred spirits Vagrant Records – something you can read more about here .
We live in London, kind of in between Paddington (well busy) and Maida Vale (dead posh), but we’re from all over the country, which makes for a nice mix. We’re only small, but what we lack in numbers is more than made up for in enthusiasm for what we do. As well as music, we like going to the cinema, long walks on the beach and reading. Admit it, you’d like to date us, right?
Getting hold of our stuff...
For those that want to know, our CDs and records and downloads are all distributed by the super folk at PIAS, and this means they’re available in all the major high street chains and from all the normal online retailers and download shops. However, being an indie ourselves, we’d prefer if you’d support your local record shop and bought our stuff from them. If you don’t know who your local indie shop is, a good place to start looking is www.myspace.com/chainwithnoname. Sending demos...
If you’d like to send us a demo of your band, you totally can, but please take a look at the bands we work with and think about whether or not it’s worthwhile. If you’re still with us, and we hope you are, please direct all demos to:
