All at Hassle Records would like to express our sympathy and offer our thoughts to the family, friends and bandmates of Alex McCulloch, guitarist of UK pop-punks Me vs. Hero, who tragically passed away this weekend following a 50ft fall in his home-town of Preston.  Alex was 20 years old.

Me vs. Hero were / are still due to support Four Year Strong at The Cockpit in Leeds in November and we hope the band are able to carry on and do Alex proud.

R.I.P.

There's a reason the football season doesn't extend into July...

So yesterday we took part, for the second year running, in the Big Scary Monsters 5-a-side football tournament, putting together a team with our friends at Signature Tune Records.  Let's just say, we had a right laugh, but we don't think we'll be receiving any invitations from anyone to start playing regularly.  Played 3, lost 3 speaks for itself.  However, in the spirit of excuse makers everywhere, we blame the following:

* We were without our two star players (they're already up for restoring pride next year!)
* The weather was unbearably hot, and we were nursing terrible hangovers from the amazing Alcopopalooza event the night before
* The last time some of us played football was last year's tournament
* Etc etc etc

However, huge congratulations to our boys in Rolo Tomassi who, in a joint team effort with their pals in Mirror! Mirror!, made the final, only to be beaten by our good friends in the Punktastic team.  Seems they don't just make astonishing music, they're pretty handy on the pitch too.  Although, we think it's slightly unfair that Punktastic had the entire internet from which to select a squad!

A big thank you again to Kev and everyone from BSM for making the day such fun, and big shout-outs to the Blakfish / Shapes team for being far and away the most entertaining bunch of lads around.

That's correct!  As you may have seen in today's issue of Kerrang!, our boyz in Four Year Strong and Cancer Bats have both been nominated for prizes at the prestigious ceremony. GTFI.

Cancer Bats are up for Best Album for the phenomenal 'Hail Destroyer' and Four Year Strong are up for Best International Newcomer.  This is awesome news for us, as they are Hassle's first ever K! Award nominations, and the bands are in the ring with some illustrious names.  Which basically means we need your continued support to help our boys win.

Simply go to www.kerrangawards.com/kerrangawards and vote.  Do it.
